CRISPR-Cas9
Bacteria store partial genetic sequences of viruses that have attacked them in their own genetic information as a defense mechanism. Bacteria that have this CRISPR system express CRISPR RNA and the Cas9 protein. When the virus returns, Cas9 cuts the viral DNA.
Cas9 is an enzyme that uses the CRISPR sequence as a guide to recognize and cut specific segments of DNA that are complementary to the CRISPR sequence.
Limitation
One of the biggest issues with CRISPR-Cas9 is that the system is too large, making it difficult to deliver the gene editor
one third size of original crisper system
