After 100 years of trying, scientists have found a way to create the pufferfish neurotoxin
Tetrodotoxin is the deadliest neurotoxin known to humans. It is naturally produced in the body of aquatic animals like puffer fish, globe fish, newts, and frogs. However, now scientists at NYU have developed a method using which TTX can be produced in a lab, this will increase our understanding of this natural poison and help us in creating a new generation of painkillers.
