tmux는 여러개의 터미널을 실행할 수 있는 TTY 멀티플렉서 입니다. 일반적으로는 screen 이라는 도구를 이 용도로 많이 사용한 것 같은데(저는 써보지 않아서...) 몇가지 개량된 tmux를 얼마전에 알게 되어 사용하려고 하고 있습니다. GUI가 대다수이고 개발을 하면 좋은 UI에 대해서 고민하게 되면서도 아이러니하게 손은 터미널에 점점 익숙해 지고 있습니다. 저는 Mac OS의 iTerm2 를 상당히 좋아합니다.

터미널 멀티플렉서 tmux를 배워보자
tmux는 터미널 화면을 여러개로 분할하고, 세션을 생성하여 attach/detach를 자유롭게 할 수 있는 터미널 멀티플렉서이다. Vim과 tmux를 함께 사용하는 동영상 을 계기로 tmux를 알게 되었는데, 좋은 영상이니 한 번쯤 보는 것을 추천한다. 초중반엔 Vim 튜토리얼, 후반엔 tmux 소개와 사용법을 설명한다. 이전에 Vim을 IDE처럼 만드는걸 포스팅 했었는데 Vim만으로는 부족했던 부분을 tmux가 채워줄 수 있을 것 같다.

New tmux sessions do not source bashrc file
When I create a new tmux session, my prompt pulls from a default bash configuration and I have to manually run source ~/.bashrc for my customized prompt. I am using a RHEL 7 machine. I began noticing this behavior after a bash update a while back, but haven't gotten around to asking the question until now (and am not sure which update this began happening around).
