The next step is to submit your financial documentation. Once your completed documents are received, UC Riverside can issue the DS-2019 certificate for your J-1 visa application.
The minimum financial requirements you must document are as follows:
Fall quarter only: US $7,989 Fall and Winter (two quarters): US $15,978
Fall, Winter and Spring (academic year): $23,968
What documents should you submit? Refer to the visa resources Financial Documentation section.
Send the Confirmation of Financial Resources (CFR) form and your financial documents to this e-mail address as a pdf or jpg attachment. Name the file with your last and first name (Example: LEE, Cristina; For multiple documents: LEE, Cristina1; LEE, Cristina2).
Submit your documents as soon as possible but no later than May 20, 2022.
NOTE: Anticipate a possible longer visa application processing time due to COVID restrictions and the high volume of applicants.

Financial Requirements
After your host UC campus is determined, you will receive instructions on how to request your certificate of eligibility (DS-2019) and submit financial documentation. This step does not apply to US citizens or US permanent residents. A DS-2019 certificate of eligibility can be issued only after you demonstrate that sufficient funds will be available to you while in the US.
