Poor givers often fail at this.

It is not only about giving.

Do not feel uncomfortable receiving the rewards you deserve; do not see giving and receiving as a strict binary. Live by helping others, while also holding the thought that it will come back as something bigger.

And when I look back, what remains are only the things I could control.

How I treated other people is a meaningful and important part of what I’ll remember.

In the end, it’s about how I acted.
