Understanding Human Group Behavior

Due to the nature of showing only extreme opinions, internet comments are likely to represent a minority view, with only 0.1% of content viewers actually writing comments. In other words, 10% of opinions appear as if they represent 80%. For the sake of influence, digital logic is infinitely strict toward others and lacks empathy or understanding. Therefore, to understand a community's tendencies, you only need to look at the comments rather than the original post to see how these people think.
  • Try to offer concrete models and predictions
  • If you disagree, try getting curious about what your partner is thinking
  • Don't be afraid to say 'oops' and change your mind
Naturally, what's important to me might not be important to someone else, and what's unimportant to others might be crucial to me. This difference creates conflict situations, so it's necessary to distinguish whether someone's opinion truly differs from my values or if it's simply a matter of different interests leading to different interpretations. We need to understand that everyone has their own logic, and every individual acts based on what they believe is right in the world as they see it. When viewed this way, many situations can be resolved without anger or arguments.
The problem with internet comments is communicating with random people we wouldn't normally interact with. Since non-verbal communication is missing in virtual spaces, we tend to assume others have the same background as us.
