Corporate participation in open source involves hiring maintainers and exerting influence on projects, and through strategic intervention in project direction and license changes, they can sometimes have a negative governance impact on the open source community.
In other words, since open source is not a corporation and is vulnerable to capital attacks, we need to be conscious of reducing our dependence on corporate influence in the commons.
