The core of TV price collapse is the mass production and advancement of LCD technology. The biggest factor is the enlargement of mother glass (large glass substrates): while equipment costs increase gradually, production area surges, causing unit area costs to plummet. Manufacturing process improvements: reduction of process steps, yield improvement from 50% → 90%+, introduction of robots and cleanrooms, enhanced cutting efficiency, shortened filling time with one-drop fill. Similar to semiconductor processes, it greatly benefited from the transfer of semiconductor equipment and know-how.
