New diamond wafers from Japan can hold 1 billion Blu-Ray discs of data
The Japanese company Adamant Namiki Precision Jewel Co. and researchers from Saga University in Kyushu, Japan, have developed a new method to mass-produce two inch (5 cm) wafers made of diamond . While using diamonds is one of the most promising materials for quantum computing systems , too much nitrogen in a diamond disrupts its quantum storage capabilities.
