For archival storage, LTO tape is currently mainstream due to its low cost, but it has limitations in capacity, speed, and durability. Glass-based technologies (Project Silica, Cerabyte) are likely to be commercialized within 2-5 years, while DNA and molecular storage technologies are still in the research phase.
