Organizational Theory
An efficient organization places those who do the work best not in doing the work itself, but in positions where they show others how to work
The principles and values that an organization upholds must not be ambiguous. They should be specific guidelines that everyone can understand, support, and practice together. Companies, like people, fundamentally move according to money and emotions.
Organizations naturally tend toward top-down structures, so to maintain balance, bottom-up approaches must be empowered. Successful organizations are those where many stars emerge.
Approaching someone to become close in an organization is often driven by necessity or purpose. You must recognize and discern when someone is trying to use you, and filter out relationships that pretend to be intimate. Those who form Rapport through work are the ones who gain recognition and survive in organizations. People who are good at organizational life are not those who obsess over relationships, but those who build relationships through work and gain recognition.
