Note taking
Don't just copy and paste; read everything, understand it, and then take notes in your own words, compressing the information
The only way to focus on the present while accumulating the past is through memo-enabled forgetting; we can focus more on the present because we can forget things by referencing what has passed.
The world has infinitely high exponential complexity, and the only way to capture the countless flowing ideas that help us navigate life bit by bit is through notes. What ultimately differentiates humans from other animals is the intergenerational transfer of knowledge.
People who advise against overly structuring notes typically don't deal with complex concepts themselves. While note-taking may seem inefficient in the short term, once you build your personal knowledge system, it creates exponential connections (Zettelkasten). Therefore, don't abandon it for short-term productivity gains.
