A medium that processes and transmits knowledge across time
What's more important than knowledge is the constructed structure of thought, and what's even more important than that is the ability to understand. However, knowledge can be proven with a single word, but understanding, which is far more important in making judgments, is difficult to prove. And more important than understanding is the ability to construct structured knowledge. Knowledge < Understanding < Structure of Knowledge < Structuring Ability is both a dependency and importance.
Fluid Intelligence and Crystallized Intelligence both increase during childhood, but fluid intelligence peaks in young adulthood while crystallized intelligence is maintained during young adulthood.
Within the human species, most genes are similar, and there are inherent limits to the speed of information processing in the brain using electrical signals. What we typically think of as idea formation is a leap, relying more on the creation of shortcuts than on fast conduction.
A slow thinker could mean it takes that much longer to make one full circuit through the brain. This may be due to a lack of connections or insufficient amount itself. These two factors improve iteratively in alternation, forming the stream of intellectual improvement. So never be afraid of your slow-thinking.
People who can't see the long term picture lack understanding. Living impulsively? That's not YOLO, that's just being foolish
A smart person is someone who can create abstractions that everyone can understand, and the most dangerous person is someone who abstracts and generalizes carelessly to appear intelligent, arriving at absurd conclusions.
What we call 'intelligence' is as much about virtues such as honesty, integrity, and bravery, as it is about 'raw intellect’. Intelligent people simply aren't willing to accept answers that they don't understand.

Scientists Have Measured a Perceptual Ability Called 'O'. How Good Is Yours?
Like snowflakes, no two people are exactly the same. You're probably used to the idea that people differ substantially in personality and in cognitive abilities - skills like problem-solving or remembering information. In contrast, there's a widely held intuition that people vary far less in their ability to recognize, match or categorize objects.
